There are many kinds of stews in Northeast China, from vegetable to cabbage stewed tofu, sauerkraut stewed vermicelli, meat, chicken stewed mushrooms, ribs stewed beans. Today I’ll make a simple cabbage stewed tofu.


150g cabbage
Half tofu
3 slices of ginger
1 section of scallion
Proper amount of salt
Proper amount of pepper
Appropriate amount of chicken essence
Proper oil


Step 1
I used a little tofu to prepare the ingredients. I cut tofu into small pieces and Chinese cabbage into shreds for two people

Step 2
Chop the scallions and slice the ginger

Step 3
Put oil in the pot and stir fry chives and ginger over high heat

Step 4
Add cabbage and stir fry

Step 5
Add water and season with pepper powder and salt

Step 6
Open tofu in water, cover and simmer for 10 minutes, sprinkle chicken essence and bring out of the pot
