1½ cups stone ground grits, not instant or quick cook
6 cups chicken broth
½ tsp onion powder
½ tsp garlic powder
2 cups shredded smoked gouda
6 slices cooked bacon, chopped
3 green onions, sliced
1 tomato, chopped


Step 1
In a 6-qt slow cooker, combine stone ground grits, chicken broth, onion powder and garlic powder.

Step 2
Cover and cook on LOW for 6-7 hours. Stir in smoked gouda. Top grits with bacon, green onions and tomato.
